Ginger Reichl presents at SMPS marketing bootcamp

Tampa Bay marketing firm | Professional speaker

Sound off! S M! Sound off! P S! The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) is an association of communicators dedicated to serving the A/E/C (architecture, engineering and construction) industry. I have had the pleasure of presenting to the SMPS Tampa Bay Chapter several times and they always make me feel like one of their own. Their latest event was a half-day “marketing bootcamp” that covered all six domains of the Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) training and certification program, and I covered the 5th domain, Promotional Activity. Since this group has heard my presentations about branding, marketing 365 and online reputation management, I developed a new workshop focused on the human elements of marketing.

How many more social media presentations can we sit through? I know I’ve given my fair share. And let’s face it, architects and engineers aren’t typically ‘early adopters’ so we end up dragging them kicking and screaming anyway. In a marketing landscape that purports to be more ‘social’, we’re all hiding behind our computer screens.  While there is likely nothing new in my Human Elements presentation, there are a lot of good reminders about how we can leverage the personalities of our people, use some ‘old school’ marketing techniques, and get face-to-face with our clients.

I was honored to join these talented professionals who covered the other five domain presentations:

  • Stephanie Thoresen, CPSM, Senior Business Development Representative, USA Environmental
  • Ann Schiola, CPSM, Marketing Director, Finley Engineering Group
  • Charles Colley, Director – Business Development, a5
  • Betty Schaefer, Marketing Coordinator, George F. Young, Inc.
  • Michael Boccuti, Director – Sales and Marketing Systems Skanska USA

If you are interested in having me speak to your company or organization about this or other marketing topics, feel free to contact me!

Robyn Walters Wins 2013 Pinstripe Service Excellence Award

PSEA13_news

Ten years ago, as she was “aging out” of Ad 2 Tampa Bay, Ginger Reichl created the Pinstripe Service Excellence Award to recognize the most outstanding member of the organization. At this year’s ADDY Awards, that first recipient, Devon Pero, presented the 2013 award to Robyn Walters – the latest in a long line of accomplished professionals who continue to be leaders in the industry. They all make us very proud.

Former Ad 2 President Robyn Walters Wins Pinstripe Service Excellence Award

Former Ad 2 Tampa Bay president, Robyn Walters, received the 2013 Pinstripe Service Excellence Award at the American Advertising Federation – Tampa Bay Chapter’s ADDY Awards held on February 27 at the Cuban Club in Ybor City. Presented annually by past recipients, the award recognizes the Ad 2 member who demonstrates the most outstanding contributions to the organization, the advertising industry, and the Tampa Bay community.

“It is truly the highest honor to be recognized by local industry leaders, people you are blessed to say are your mentors and friends,” said Walters. “I am grateful to know each past recipient of the Pinstripe Service Excellence Award and there is no higher accolade than having my name next to theirs.”

robynwaltersWalters was recognized for her accomplishments including maintaining the chapter’s membership during the recession, managing several student initiatives including the mentorship program, internship speed dating event, and an AdTour of several local agencies. Under her leadership, Ad 2 earned first place in the National Ad 2 Public Service competition for their pro bono campaign for Starting Right, Now. She has held several positions on Ad 2’s board and is currently the education chair for AAF Tampa Bay and the National Ad 2 public service co-advisor. She is a programmatic solutions manager for Triad Retail Media and volunteers for several Tampa Bay non-profits.

“Robyn was nominated by several of her peers, illustrating how much they admire her,” said Ginger Reichl, president of Pinstripe Marketing and former Ad 2 president. “Her commitment to Ad 2, her employer and the advertising industry is only surpassed by her commitment to making Tampa Bay a better place through her service to charitable organizations.”

Ginger Reichl Appointed District Advertising Competition Chair

nsac_news
Pinstripe Marketing is pleased to announce that its president, Ginger Reichl, has been appointed Chairperson of the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) for the Fourth District American Advertising Federation.

Each year, a sponsor provides students with a real-world case study and an outline over viewing its product and their current advertising plan. Students must learn about their product and research the brand’s competition in order to develop a new campaign plan for the company. The college chapter members then develop a 26-page marketing campaign and an accompanying 20-minute presentation. This new campaign strategy is then “pitched” by each team to a line of judges. The judge panel is comprised of professionals from the communications industry. Students from AAF college chapters from Florida and the Caribbean will compete in April 2014 and the winner will go on to compete at the national competition in June.

Ginger was a member of Florida State University’s NSAC team during her senior year in 1993 and says it was one of the best experiences of her college career. She later served as District 4 NSAC Chair for several years prior to taking a hiatus from board service.

“I have a big soft spot for advertising education and the NSAC,” said Reichl. “Working with the AAF, District leadership, and the team advisors is always rewarding, but seeing the student’s work always leaves me energized and inspired. These are the best of the best in the next generation of advertising professionals.”

The 2014 NSAC sponsor is Mary Kay.

Fisherman Wins Pinstripe Award

Amanda Fisherman

Ad 2 Tampa Bay president, Amanda Fisherman, received the 2012 Pinstripe Service Excellence Award at the American Advertising Federation – Tampa Bay Chapter’s ADDY Awards held on February 28 at the Tampa Theatre. Presented annually by past recipients, the award recognizes the Ad 2 member who demonstrates the most outstanding contributions to the organization, the advertising industry, and the Tampa Bay community.

“Amanda has been an amazing asset to Ad 2 Tampa Bay and to our local advertising community since her first days out of school. She has shown excellent leadership, superior dedication, and genuine passion in her contributions of all kinds. Most notably, she has championed one cause above all others – the growth and development of the community’s local students and recent graduates. Through tireless dedication to the programs within Ad 2 including AdTour and the Campus Road Show, and her overall leadership of the club, she has grown what amounts to an incubator for our local talent,” as noted in one nomination.

“Amanda’s accomplishments have been impressive,” said Ginger Reichl, president of Pinstripe Marketing and former Ad 2 president. “I also have a soft spot for advertising education, and as an agency owner always searching for talent, I appreciate her dedication to supporting the next generation of professionals.”

Fisherman is an account associate at Bayshore Solutions.

Legal Marketing Association Spotlight on Tampa Bay

Legal Marketing Tampa at Painting with a Twist

The Tampa Bay City Group of the Legal Marketing Association’s Southeastern Chapter was selected as the spotlight in the latest newsletter. I am so proud to be a part of this organization and to see the growth we’ve experienced over the last several years. Our leaders are among the best in the country and the excitement coming from this chapter proves it. If you’re interested in becoming a member, please visit the LMA site or contact me for more information!

CITY GROUP SPOTLIGHT:TAMPA BAY

This year the Tampa Bay City Group continues to focus on substantive programs, networking opportunities, and community service. We collaborated with the Orlando City Group to present programs by Tracy LaLonde of Akina on “Ten Tips for Effective Pitch Meetings,” LMASE circuit speaker David Freeman on “Secrets of the Masters,” and a video-conferenced ACC Value Challenge panel discussion.

Additional programs featured Emily Thall of Debevoise & Plimpton (sponsored by Dave Whiteside and Hubbard One) on “How to Better Manage Your Firm’s Experience,” and four-time Emmy Award winner Ren Scott’s presentation on “Using Video Effectively and Maximizing Your Web Marketing.”

We also drew upon the knowledge and experience of our own City Group members for programming. Kate Barth, Public Relations Manager at Carlton Fields, prepared the questions and moderated a media roundtable; and Ginger Reichl, President of Pinstripe Marketing, will co-present our November program on “Making the Most of Your LinkedIn Professional Profiles.”  We also continued our practice of holding a post-LMA Annual Meeting roundtable discussion for members to share information and best practices learned at the conference with members that were not able to attend.

Spring, summer, and holiday networking events for the year were planned to benefit organizations in our community. The Spring Networking Social at Painting With A Twist was a huge hit, and both financial and “wish list” contributions were made to SPCA Tampa Bay.

The Summer Social was held at the Tampa Bay History Museum and hundreds of school supplies were collected for the benefit of inner city students at Sawgrass Lake Elementary. At our Holiday Social in December, we will again collect donations for Toys For Tots.

However, the true highlight of the year has been the many new colleagues who have attended our meetings. As part of our ongoing initiative to recruit new members, we will again participate in the “Ultimate Mixer” with other Tampa Bay marketing professionals this fall.
