Cashmere Wins Pinstripe Service Excellence Award

Tampa Bay advertising wardAd 2 Tampa Bay’s immediate past president,Taryn Cashmere, received the 2014 Pinstripe Service Excellence Award at the American Advertising Federation – Tampa Bay Chapter’s ADDY Awards held on February 26 at Port Tampa Bay. Presented annually by past recipients, the award recognizes the Ad 2 member who demonstrates the most outstanding contributions to the organization.

 

Pinstripe Marketing Service Excellence Award 2014Cashmere has enjoyed many successes during her membership in the organization, including mentoring several students, raising thousands of dollars in sponsorships, introducing the new internship speed dating events, and coordinating the Cynthia Bentley-DeNight Memorial Fund to start two new student ad clubs. As president of the chapter, she earned a first place finish in the National Ad 2 Public Service Competition for their pro bono campaign on behalf of The Abolish Movement to end human trafficking and was recognized as National Ad 2 Club and President of the Year. She is currently a multimedia account executive for the Tampa Bay Business Journal.

 

“Taryn has been nominated for this award almost every year she has been a member, illustrating her tremendous contributions to the organization,” said Ginger Reichl, president of Pinstripe Marketing and former Ad 2 president. “She is a natural leader and her enthusiasm is contagious.”

Pinstripe Among Initial Founders of Gasparilla Interactive Festival

Tampa Bay advertising agency, Gasparilla Interactive FestivalThe first Gasparilla Interactive Festival will be held on March 6, 2015 at Port Tampa Bay, Cruise Terminal 3. The Gasparilla Interactive Festival (GIF) is Tampa Bay’s showcase for cutting-edge technologies, digital innovation and entrepreneurial inspiration.

The Festival features compelling presentations and forums from the brightest minds in emerging technology, interactive media, and disruptive entrepreneurialism and will include exciting networking events hosted by industry leaders. The event will have a series of speakers and an expo. Confirmed speakers include Faris Yakob, founder of Genius Steals LLC; Joanna Lord, VP of Marketing at Porch; Peter Shankman, founder at ShankMinds Business Masterminds; Savannah Peterson, Global Community Manager at Shapeways; Michael del Castillio of Upstart Business Journal; and Riva-Melissa Tez founder of Berlin Singularity.

The festival is a community event and is made possible through the collaboration of Tampa Bay’s public, private, non-profit, and academic institutions. Partners include AAF Tampa Bay, Ad 2 Tampa Bay, Hillsborough County, EDI2, University of Tampa, Port Tampa Bay, Visit Tampa Bay, Collaborative Technologies of Tampa Bay, Schifino Lee, The Publicity Agency and the Gasparilla International Film, Art and Music Festivals.

The festival is organized by the Gasparilla Interactive Festival Inc., a Florida non-profit organization that was founded by leadership members of the American Advertising Federation and Ad 2 Tampa Bay chapters.

Breakthrough Cocktail Interview with Ginger Reichl

breakthrough_newsI had the pleasure of chatting with Gary Ware on his Breakthrough Cocktail podcast this week. This episode focused on creating the career of your dreams, so we talked about my career path, how I chose advertising, how to network, creating work/life ‘balance,’ what I look for when hiring new talent and more during our half hour together.

One of his questions was, “What did you want to be when you grew up?” I responded that I can only ever remember wanting to go into advertising. Maybe it was watching Darren create ads at McMann & Tate on Bewitched reruns, AdCouncil PSAs during Saturday morning cartoons, or the Superbowl, but I was hooked very early. By the time I was 12 years old, I was on a mission to have an ad agency. Such a nerdy child.

I am so fortunate and grateful that I get have the ‘career of my dreams’ and work with incredibly smart and inspiring clients. It was kind of Gary to ask me to join him on his podcast and hope that one person hears a nugget that helps them find their dream. Happy listening!

Pinstripe to manage advertising and PR for 90th Shrine Game

shrine_newsShriners Hospitals for Children has renewed its relationship with Pinstripe Marketing as the  agency-of-record for the East-West Shrine Game for the fourth year. The 90th Shrine Game will be held at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg on January 17, 2015 and televised live on NFL Network.

The annual East-West Shrine Game, originated in 1925, and is the longest-running college all-star football game in the country featuring some of the highest-rated NFL draft prospects. Since the inception, 62 East-West Shrine Game alumni have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and from the 2013 game, 87 are currently active on NFL rosters. More than 100 players from the 2014 game attended NFL training camps are competing for jobs for this season. At the East-West Shrine Game, NFL scouts and coaches have an opportunity to assess the future stars of the National Football League.

garappoloPinstripe’s role includes print, outdoor, television and radio media buying, social media management, approving press credentials for more than 150 media representatives covering the practices and game, drafting and distributing press releases for more than 100 players and coaches, player press throughout practice week, local and national media relations to promote the game and hospitals, managing the press box, in-game graphics on the jumbotron, sideline photography and  the game day press conference.

“Pinstripe Marketing is great fit for us because they know the market, they’re very involved in the community, and they have a proven track record of working with non-profits,” said Harold Richardson, executive director of the East-West Shrine Game. “It’s a bonus that they’re also big college football fans.”

The East-West Shrine Game has emerged as a showcase for up and coming NFL talent, but more importantly, the players come together for the beneficiary of the event, Shriners Hospitals for Children. As part of their experience, players and coaches visit Shriners Hospitals for Children — Tampa, where they get to spend time interacting with the kids and developing a philanthropic relationship with the hospital that will hopefully endure throughout their careers.

“We look forward to working with Shriners Hospitals for Children and the East-West Shrine Game each year,” said Ginger Reichl, president of Pinstripe Marketing. “The hospital visit is one of the most inspiring things we will ever experience and it emphasizes why this is more than just a game.”
