The Shorecrest gym was filled with toys, games, clothes, bicycles and much more on Friday – all part of a gift drive for children supported by the Guardian ad Litem Foundation. The organization raises funds and resources for local foster children. Christmas should be a special time for every child and the students and families of Shorecrest made sure local families have a reason to celebrate.
Bay New 9’s Ashley Jeffery and Tampa Bay Times reporter, John Pendygraft, visited the school to talk with the students about the gift drive.
“Your mom and dad gift you stuff, so when you give it feels like you are the person who is being kind and giving. I think it feels really good,” said second grader, Kristen Williams.”
