We were pleased to welcome Bay News 9’s Ashley Jeffery at Shorecrest Preparatory School as students participated in the Hour of Code – a global initiative to expand participation in computer science and technology. In celebration of Computer Science Education Week, Hour of Code is organized by Code.org and features tutorials to teach programming, including Code with Anna and Elsa from Frozen and Write Your First Computer Program with video lectures from Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Angry Birds and Plants vs. Zombies. President Obama also learned to write code with students.
Ashley met kindergarteners learning how to program a robot, 3rd graders building their own apps and games, and seniors learning more advanced coding in preparation for biotech classes in college and plans to make more advanced prosthetics.
